Silicon Plant To Begin Hiring

 

BURNSVILLE, Miss. – Recruitment for full-time skilled trade workers has begun as Mississippi Silicon approaches final construction phases and equipment installation at its Burnsville manufacturing site.

“We are very pleased with the support and assistance of the Mississippi Department of Employment Security’s Workforce Investment Network and Northeast Mississippi Community College (NEMCC) as they serve as our gateway for recruiting, evaluating and supplying candidates for permanent positions,” said John Lalley, Vice President, Mississippi Silicon.

“Our immediate focus is to hire a team of experienced electricians and maintenance workers to be onboard by mid-April so they can be in place for the installation of the first of two SMS-Siemag submerged arc furnaces.

“Northeast is pleased to support economic development projects that bring jobs to our region,” said Nadara Cole, Vice President Workforce Training and Economic Development at NEMCC. “To date, interest has been strong with high-caliber candidates preparing to work in a manufacturing environment.”

Qualified candidates must demonstrate career readiness skills and achieve Job Pass and Silver Level requirements to be eligible for maintenance, electrician, operator, technician and other positions at Mississippi Silicon.
