Governor Phil Bryant, along with many other state and local representatives helped cut the ribbon October 28th, 2015 for the grand opening of Mississippi Silicon, the first silicon metal production facility to open in the United States in the last forty years.

In January 2014 Mississippi Silicon broke ground in Burnsville, Mississippi, a small community of less than one thousand residents. The Northeast Mississippi town competed with locations in South America and northern Canada for the opportunity to house the new silicon venture, but ultimately the small community with direct access to the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway became the home for what will be the world’s premiere silicon metal production facility.

Many state and local news agencies were on-hand to report on Mississippi Silicon’s grand opening, as the new silicon production facility looks to make a boom to the local economy.

Mississippi Silicon looks forward to the years to come Northeast Mississippi, working with all aspects of state and local government, as well as the great residents of Tishomingo County.
